I have a 2003 chevy blazer when ever I put the heat on to warm my feet the heat comes out to the defrost ports

I have a 2002 Chevy blazer whenever I put the heat on to warm up my Feet/shoes the heat suddenly comes out through the defrost to my wind shield. All the other controls are normal such as the A/C. Help!! my feet are cold!
