Bmw e36 325is in limp mode?

My 1993 bmw 325is automatic has been going into limp mode while driving in the morning (40-50℉). It seems to happen while coasting after it downshifts from 4th gear. The car only has 77,000 miles on it and other than going into limp mode the transmission is shifting fine. The night before this all started happening I did an improper burnout in which I floored the brakes, pulled up the e brake, and pushed the gas down about 3/4th's of the way but the tires didn't spin and the car moved forward very slowly. I did this for about 15 seconds and will never do it again. From this can anyone please diagnose what may be causing the to go into limp. PS when I turn off the car and restart limp mode goes away. I would really appreciate any suggestions, Thanks.
