How can I keep Jesus from stealing my soul?

I want to be prepared when he comes like a thief in the night. A couple of my friends got tricked into giving him theirs and they haven't been the same since, and they also claim he lives inside them. Pretty spooky... is there anything that will protect me from being posessed by the lord?
