How long should I remain on Celexa?
Although everyone is different, I think it would be appropriate to stay on the medication indefinitely for now since it seems to be working well for you. By indefinitely, I mean potentially for much longer than 6 months, especially if you don't have any side effects. The reason is that there is a high risk for relapse if you come off the medication. That being said, if you get to a stable point in your life where you think you might want to come off the medication, then it would probably be best to decrease the dose slowly. Celexa is quite a good medication and is available in generic form. A 90 day supply of 40 mg tabs costs only 10 bux at Target or Walmart, so I don't think you need insurance to pay for that!
